This is an project idea and plan of a solar thermal design.
The basic design is placed below.
What’s in the design?
- The frame is a 1/2″ plywood
- Servo arm to rotate the box frame. This is controlled by the Arduino system
- Fresnel lens. (2×2 feet or 1×1 feet)
- 2 or 3 inch copper cylinder. Length maybe 6 inches
- 1/2″ flexible copper tube to connect copper heater and other pipes
- Copper t-junctions
- 1/8″ copper tubes to connect the turbines
- 1/8″ fuel pipes to collect the turbine steam output and connect to water tank
- 5″ cylinder to hold water
- lazy susan base to hold the structure and rotate along the floor
- Rust-Oleum 241169 High Heat Ultra Enamel Spray, Black to paint copper cylinder
- Mini Alternators
- Mini turbine engines (Microcosm steam engines)
- Mini pump
- Mini motor connected to a wheel to help rotate the base
- Thread lock glue to connect copper joints / Just for copper glue
- Four light sensors or four LDRs
- Arduino board
- 18650 battery pack
- Multiplexes if needed for the circuit
- Pressure relief valve for the main steam output
